James Hyduke: Medicine Woman
I cleaned out my fish tank this weekend. Moved the ginormus goldfish and 4 little others into the biggest pot I could find. Started cleaning the tank, then noticed one of the littl'ns belly up. I gave him a little nudge and got no response. Ah crap - another dead fish. Scooped him up in the net and he flipped a little...ok, not *quite* dead. Then I remembered someone telling me onceuponatimeago that if you put a dying fish in salt water, it'd come back to life. Suuuuuure. Put him in a mug with some fresh water and a little salt. Cleaned the tank some more, then checked back. Poked at him a little, got a little reaction, then back to floating. Almost ready to swipe the 9volt from the smoke detector for a jump start. More salt. More cleaning. Checked back again, belly down! No way! A little more salt. Tank all clean, fresh water, everything back in place. Back to check on him - pokepoke - swim!swim! Scooped him up and put him back in the tank. He's alive and doing great! I'll remember this if the dog or cats go belly up....worth a shot, right? |

Great joke and/or pickup line
A man scanned the guests at a party and spotted an attractive woman standing alone. He approached her and asked her name. "My name is Carmen," she told him. "That's a beautiful name," he said. "Is it a family name?" "No," she replied. "I gave it to myself. It reflects the things I like most - cars and men." "What's your name?" she asked. "Beertits," he said. Now that's good stuff. |

Here kitty, kitty...
If anyone is looking for a kitten, a co-worker of Bonnie's has quite a few to find homes for before winter. She lives on a farm in Sun Prairie and doesn't think they'll survive the winter. All are VERY loving...some even tried to hitch a ride from Bonnie when she was leaving. Let me know! |

That dog...er...CAT...has a puffy..er...NO..tail!
Well, seems about the only time I make a post is when there is a new member of the family. Nothing different about this one. Bonnie was talking about a co-worker lady that had these kittens she had to find homes for before winter. Bonnie - "There's one that's part Manx that doesn't have a tail..." Me - (thinking 'oh well, she'll find a home for that one NO problem') "Well, if she doesn't find a home....you have my permission." So here we are. With yet ANOTHER animal. She sure is cute, though. Hopefully yahoo will allow the pics to be...we'll give it a few tries.. kitty |
